Armand con la moglie Iris hanno fondato la rhode island poppers 15 anni fa, la maggior parte dell’attività di questa azienda con sede a Woonsocket nel Rhode Island è indirizzata verso la pesca della striped bass, uno degli american gamefish per eccellenza e motivo di invidie italiche nei confronti dei  tanto fortunati cugini statunitensi, ma oltre alla spigola a stelle e strisce, Armand & Family si occupano di produrre esche per la pesca al tonno, grande amore del fondatore che ha passato gran parte della sua vita come professional mate su diversi charter di pesca, tra il Rhode Island e il Massachussetts, questo background ha permesso alla rhode island poppers di produrre esche pensate, testate e costruite da un pescatore per i pescatori. 

Oggi Armand ha qualche problema alla schiena e non può più uscire nelle acque agitate del nord america come una volta, ma ammette che costruire esche che possano rendere qualcuno felice è la cosa che ama di più al mondo e ad avere una propria creatura che nuota al largo di mari lontani è una cosa che emoziona questo lupo di mare.
