Il Pistacchio o in lingua inglese Pistachio (Pistacia Vera L.) è un albero della famiglia delle anarcadiaceae, può raggiungere una altezzo di 12 metri e un’età di 300 anni, è originario del Medio Oriente, dove veniva già coltivato in età preistorica, particolarmente in Persia. La parola “Pistacchio” deriva attraverso l’arabo dal persiano, il nome è onomotopeico e richiama il suo prodotto dal guscio che maturando si apre all’ipprovviso emettendo un Pis-Tak, il termine Siciliano Festuca o Frastuca con il quale si indica sia la pianta che il frutto prodotto, deriva direttamente dalla parola araba.

Studio-Vis prende il nome dalla lingua francese, il padre del Maestro Osamu si occupava per lavoro di filettatura e vis in francese significa appunto Vite.
I coniugi Yamagami producono esche artificiali che possano essere anche oggetti da amare oltre che avere uno specifico utilizzo, un’utilizzo prevalentemente TOP WATER, come mi ha spiegato Mr Osamu che di questa tecnica è fanatico come il sottoscritto, i prodotti Studio Vis sono destinati alla pesca del Large Mouth Bass o boccalone per dirla all’italiana.
Le essenze preferite da Osamu per modellare le proprie opere sono il legno di Jelutong proveniente dalla Malesia e l Ayous conosciuto anche come samba o Obeche, i tempi di realizzazione come tutti i prodotti di nicchia sono lunghi e la produzione non supera i venti pezzi al mese.
In tutti i lavori della Studio-Vis si può apprezzare una grande attenzione per i particolari e il gran gusto per le grafiche usate che trovo tra le più belle che io abbia visto finora e qua credo che il talento di designer di Mr Osamu sia ben evidente.
