Ci sono molti bravi fotografi che si dedicano a riprendere il mondo della pesca con buoni risultati, ma pochi, anzi pochissimi lo fanno ottimamente come Valentine Atkinson

Valentine è un pescatore con la canna da mosca e da sempre si dedica a immortalare il mondo Pam (acronimo di Pesca a Mosca) con ottimi risultati.Le sue foto riescono a trasformare un semplice hobby in una cosa romantica e affascinante grazie alla perfetta fusione tra tecnica e glamour.

Queste le parole di Val :"I caught my first trout on a fly rod at the age of seven. That hatchery fish from the Wissahickon Park in Philadelphia sparked a flame that still keeps me warm.Twenty years ago I started taking a camera on fishing trips after realizing that there was a lot more to angling than catching fish. Over the years I have learned t o combine these two passions into my life's work. My four books fulfill a dream of enabling me to share these passions with you. I've now traveled to 29 countries on assignments and I must confess that in recent years the challenge of making a really great image has started to transcend my desire to catch fish. However, fly fishing and photography go very well together. The secret is knowing when to put down the rod and pick up the camera.

These days I travel farther afield but it's the same quest for beauty and solitude that motivate me. It is my sincere desire that my images share with you the passion for these wild and romantic places. If they do, then hopefully you will share the desire to cherish, respect and protect what wilderness remains in the world and actively resist the greed which flourishes and threatens, that your children and grandchildren will also see these places one day and find them as lovely as they appear here.Here's to Truth, Adventure and Passion"

Valentine ha talento, ha tutto quello che deve avere un artista per lasciare a bocca aperta chi guarda le sue opere :- Senso dell'inquadratura- Ricerca della luce perfetta- Colpo d'occhio- Conoscenza del mondo della pesca- Conoscenza delle regole fondamentali della fotografia

Certo, l'abitare in California aiuta ad essere un buon pescatore e un ottimo fotografo, ma noi crediamo che lui abbia un raro talento.Anche il fatto di aver pescato e fotografato in 29 paesi può aver aiutato a realizzare un ottimo archivio di imamgini, ma conosciamo altri angler globetrotter che non si avvicinano al livello di Val.

Numerose le sue pubblicazioni, tra cui la più nota "The Greatest Fly Fishing Around the Worl", ed innumerevoli le copertine sulle più famose riviste di pesca così come i premi vinti in concorsi internazionali di fotografia.
Le immagini di Val sono conosciute in tutto il mondo anche fuori dall'ambiente alieutico.
